Our launch is a private launch. NO PERSONAL BOATS can launch from our dock. All personal boats should use Wayside Park in downtown Covington only 6 mins away.

+ Common Questions About Our Rentals
- Is this a swamp? No, our rental location in on the Bogue Fayala River which has a sandy bottom and it's very rare to see an alligator in the area. The river is shallow and chilly, alligator prefer warmer, deeper water. If you're looking for swamp scenery checkout our guided swamp tour options
Where do we launch? Right behind The Chimes on the boardwalk from our private floating dock. You will launch and return from the same location
Will there be a shuttle? No, most days the Bogue Falaya river has almost no current. Most paddlers actaully begin heading upstream. Once you are finished with your rental you will return to the same location.
Does the river circle back to the beginning? No, please watch your time and return back to the launch when your rental time ends.
What if the weather is bad? We never penalize you for bad weather. We have the most lenient refund policy in the industry. Check it out
Will there be gators? While it's always possible on waterways in Louisiana it is unlikley to see gators in the area you will be paddling.
Is the rental price per person? No, our rental price is per boat not per person. Example: You only need 1 double kayak reserved for 2 paddlers.
Can I bring an ice chest? Yes, The Chimes does not mind if you bring your own supplies. Large coolers fit well in canoes, small soft coolers fit well in the kayaks.
Are you dog friendly? Yes, dogs are welcome to come paddle and eat at Chimes. If your dogs weighs over 30 lbs we recommend canoes over kayaks but you are welcome to use either.
Is it beginner friendly? Yes, no experience is required. We have new paddlers rent all the time.
We offer rentals ranging from 2 to 5 hours long at a variety of prices. Most guest spend between 2 and 3 hours on the river on average.

- Our launch is private. No personal boats can launch from our dock. Please use Wayside Park in Downtown Covington for personal boats.
