A Truly Unique Experience for Outdoor Enthusiasts
Drive Time is about 45 minutes from New Orleans
Experience the full story of the Louisiana wetland ecosystem on this eco-friendly low impact tour. Kayak through a swamp environment surrounded by cypress trees covered in Spanish Moss . Then enter a marsh with open view as we paddle into Lake Pontchartrain. All at the laid back New Orleans pace, no rushing down the bayou on our tour.
There are plenty of short breaks along the tour where your professional guide will pause and give detailed info about the bayous, swamps, and Louisiana’s wetland eco systems. At the mid way point, we will stop and enjoy the surroundings. Depending on the season wildlife consists of ibises, egrets, herons, eagles, alligators, turtles, and more. Woodpeckers and assorted song birds are seasonal visitors to the living and dead cypress trees visible from the bayou.
After the kayak tour, we shuttle the group to our favorite locally-owned northshore restaurant for lunch (included). Your Master Naturalist guide will join the group for lunch. You can ask your guide anything about what you have learned or seen on the tour. Their wealth of knowledge is vast so ask our guides any questions that you may have. They will answer with a combination of their knowledge and their experiences. Lastly, we will end the tour with a little ice cream (included) from our favorite locally-owned ice cream shop serving our favorite locally-made ice cream. The people that we partner with for our tours have become like family to us! When you support us you are supporting a few more small business owners!
Reservations are required, if you do not use our transportation detailed driving directions will be emailed in the confirmation email.
