February Moonlight Paddle

We had our first Moonlight Paddle of 2016 and it was one for the books!  The weather was clear and comfortable with a slight breeze blowing through the swamp.  That breeze helped keep the bugs away!  There were over 40 people that wanted to experience sunset in the swamps.

As we were paddling out in our canoes, we made a few stops to view the plants and animals.  We took a few minutes to talk about a few invasive species that are in this area.  We then started in an old logging canal and as we made our way out, the bayou got more and more narrow until we had to go single file.

We found a perfect spot to watch the sunset through the Bald Cypress.  Watching the sunset is always a great experience but watching it in the swamps makes it even better! We recommend that you get outside and see for yourself what the swamps can offer.  It is always an experience!
